Most outdoor pools are covered over by the first week of October. The three houses below keep swimming all year, because the pool sits under a roof.
That changes what a winter weekend looks like. A few slow lengths before breakfast, the children in the water while the roast goes in, a swim and a soak before dinner. Each house sleeps a big group, from 29 to 40, and each one is hired whole, so the pool is yours alone.

A private estate in rural Suffolk with a heated indoor pool that is open year round, inside a spa complex with a jacuzzi, an infrared sauna and a massage room. There is a private gym and a tennis court too.
